We had the conversation several months ago over lunch.  Some of the women in the office mentioned how much they love their cashmere sweaters. I had responded that I never owned a cashmere sweater, essentially because I felt they were generally very expensive.

I did not notice it initially but soon thereafter I noticed an ad popping up on my Instagram feed. The ad was for a website that advertised reasonably priced cashmere sweaters. After seeing the ad several times over many weeks, I finally looked at the website. The reviews were great (although I do not think anyone would post a negative review on their own site), the sweaters looked pretty and the prices were affordable. So, I ordered a sweater.

I really loved the sweater when I received it, so I ordered another. I loved that one also, so I ordered some gifts from the website. After I ordered the gifts, I came to realize that their Instagram ads worked on me; I had been influenced.
