Thanks to David Abeshouse and Paul Napolitano, Gotham’s own sommeliers, I know that I have officially expanded my wine pallet.

I have blogged along the way about my attraction to sweet, bubbly, cold white wine. That said, in recent years I have been trying to expand my wine horizons.

For those of us who were able to join David and Paul this evening, it was a fun, educational and special compilation of learning, fun and good wine. We learned about the regions that bore the fruit, tips about how each wine was produced (who knew there were stainless steel barrels??), and what to expect from an aged wine – for better or worse.

For me, I learned that there is actually red wine that I really enjoy.

Special thank you again to David and Paul for sharing their choices, experience, knowledge, time and good humour with all of us.

Maybe next time, we could taste some white wine??
